This Old Mouse

FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY…

Oceantech challenges artists of all walks to create art out of unwanted electronic waste. Supplies range from circuit boards, old projectors, gears and motors, capacitors, resistors, to wire, lenses, speakers, screens, and countless other parts that fill its 30,000 sq ft facility.

“This Old Mouse” is a showcase of materials re-purposed into objects of delight, and doubles as a competition for the artists. Attendees will cast votes and make one lucky artist the recipient of the grand prize laptop from Oceantech. Admission is free and light refreshments will be available.
Science and technology go hand in hand, so nerdy-science-rappers Meteor Mouth and Brainstorm will be in the house to celebrate their record release!

7-9PM // James Patrick and Jake Spike will make a moody mix of down-tempo, ambient, and hip-hop music on vinyl.

9PM // Meteor Mouth and Brainstorm RECORD RELEASE performance!

Oceantech is a ReUse focused electronics recycler, based in NE Minneapolis. Their seven years in business have been spent searching for new ways get involved with the local community. “This Old Mouse” was first held at Tarnish and Gold Gallery in 2012, challenging artists of all walks to generate art via unwanted electronic waste. Supplies range from circuit boards, old projectors, gears and motors, capacitors, resistors, to wire, lenses, speakers, screens, and countless other parts that fill Oceantech’s 30,000 sq ft facility. Once again, for the 2013 This Old Mouse event at Gamut Gallery, Oceantech encourages local artists:

“Come to our warehouse, scope out some interesting materials, and transform it into powerful works of art! Last year we had an amazing scope of entries, from Intereactive color projectors, ornate horses made with Capacitors, to a one of a kind printing press! We orchestrate this event simply to stimulate people’s minds with the beautiful potential that exists within these neglected materials.”
