THE COVEN + GAMUT GALLERY

“THE COVEN PROUDLY WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CASS GARNER OF GAMUT GALLERY TO PROVIDE LOCAL, INCLUSIVE ART FOR THEIR MEMBERS FINE ART FROM MARTZIA AT THE COVEN, IN ST.PAUL.”

The Coven was launched as an opportunity to connect underrepresented voices with an inclusive and intersectional workspace in 2017.  From then, the collective has grown to include two locations in the Twin Cities and 400+ members across multiple industries.  The Coven has been featured in publications like Cosmopolitan and Forbes, and connects communities of women, non-binary and trans people with networking resources, live events, and developmental courses.

Featured St. Paul Coven Artist

Anihail Álvarez is a young psychologist and artist born in Tamaulipas. Annie moved from the north to Guadalajara for reasons of violence in the city where she lived, this changed her ideas about art. Before the focus of her career was on exploring her inner world as a teenager, replaced this with ideas about transcending on the level of
economics. She currently works with acrylic on canvas and embroidery. Annie is very interested in creating a new product but cannot lose sight of the irony generated by the innovative art. She conveys the hope that she had generated by starting her career young and conveys disappointment at breaking old & paradigms as she was forced to start her career all over again. She uses this process to reflect your way of seeing things with designs cold and messages of economic reality such as “nothing is impossible, multitask” or “this box says nothing” with the title innovation desensitizes.
